English weather has been rubbish this year for arranging location shoots. My vision was to capture whimsical images of Abbie, evolving into a strong confident women, early morning sunlight breaking through the trees....... instead after a postponed shoot due to torrential rain, we re-scheduled, the weather was dull, grey with the typical flat sky....... but all was good.

I've shot with Abbie before, she is incredible and promotes the most exciting hair colours - previously shot with vibrant turquoise hair, this time with a more subtle powder pink.

SHOPPING MADE DIFFICULT BY PARKING COSTS?

My debate : are local councils missing the point? I am an avid internet shopper, but it does have its drawbacks :
a) you can't truly identify the quality of the product
b) you take a gamble on whether it will either fit or suit you
c) being at home to take delivery is sometimes tedious
d) returning garments is sometimes complicated and online stores are getting slightly naughty at
holding on to your money for far longer than they should - item for another debate!

Ok, you have to pay postage for many of your online purchases, but if things are returned the retailer is obliged to pay for one way of the journey, either outward postage or return postage.

However :

I 'popped' into town yesterday, arriving promptly at 9am to 'enjoy' a relaxed wander around the shops. Admittedly I would normally use the £3 park and ride option, but due to needing to collect some large pieces of foam, chose to park in the underground car park in the heart of town, the choice of many out of town shoppers and those planning on substantial buying, that don't see any thrill in waiting for a packed park and ride bus and lugging their purchases onboard, more often than not having to stand on the bus, awkwardly holding half a dozen bags - this kind of takes the edge off the town shopping experience.

Nottingham is quite a spread out shopping experience, so some time is spent en-route and my 'need to visit' points were stretched to far corners of the route. A quick stop at the regularly packed Pret-A-Manger, circuit complete, laden with 2 large lampshades, 6 pieces of 40x100cm foam, a packed leather holdall, my camera bag, a couple of John Lewis guilty pleasures, back to the car park at just after 2.30pm......... £15 parking fee!!!!!!!

After recovering from the cold sweat, I've decided that internet shopping has so many benefits nowadays. Why are councils persisting in driving us out of the Town centres? Park and Ride is a perfect solution I agree, but not one easy navigated by those from out of the area and those planning on power buying in town - please sort it out. Maybe Mary Portas can have a word in her assignment to help sort out the High Streets. Please Mary, help us to feel more welcome to park and shop in town!

FEMININE MEETS MASCULINE

I struggle to look typically 'girly', instead wear lots of Helmut Lang black, sensible Miu Miu flats and lots of scarves. I want to explore how we can achieve both the feminine and masculine balance that fits my profile.

I shot with Sohui yesterday to try and achieve my goal, a touch of femininity and a dash of masculine, easy to wear for expression.

Heels or flats, the debate continues. For some 6" heels equal confidence and height, but if you don't glide along beautifully with the finesse and elegance of Victoria Beckham in your heels, that confidence is isolated to an inner result only.
